How to Get the Most Out of This Calculator
While most operating systems have built-in calculators, they often lack the advanced organizational features needed for bookkeeping, homework, or multi-step math problems. We built this tool to replicate the power of a physical desktop calculator directly in your browser.
The Paper Tape (History)
Accountants love "paper tape" calculators because they allow you to verify your entries. Every time you press equals, your entire equation is saved to the History log on the right. Pro Tip: Click any number inside the History log to instantly paste it back into the main calculator screen!
Keyboard Shortcuts
You do not need to use your mouse. You can type using your physical keyboard's Numpad. Press Enter to solve the equation. Press Backspace to delete the last number typed. Press Escape or Delete to clear the screen (AC).
How to Use Memory Functions
The memory buttons at the top of the calculator allow you to store a number to use later, which is perfect for complex formulas with multiple parts.
- M+Memory Plus: Adds the number currently on the screen to the hidden memory bank. If the memory is currently empty (0), it simply stores your number.
- M-Memory Minus: Subtracts the current screen number from the stored memory bank.
- MRMemory Recall: Pastes the number currently stored in your memory bank onto the screen so you can use it in your current equation.
- MCMemory Clear: Erases the memory bank back to zero. A small indicator light will turn off when the memory is empty.
